Recently the fluid power industry lost Larry Shea Sr. Shea spent 22 years in the U.S. Navy maintaining complex aircraft circuits and teaching hydraulics to mechanics and pilots. He was a hydraulic engineer responsible for more than 2500 hydraulic systems at Bethlehem Steel for another 20 years.
Shea was a founding member of the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the Fluid Power Society and a member of the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers. His knowledge of the industry led him to speak at multiple seminars for the FPS and STLE.
He last worked with his son and grandchildren at Valley Hydraulics & Air Inc., Bethlehem, Pa., a Bosch Rexroth Distributor.
