Wind Turbine Test Leads Safe at Extreme Heights

March 28, 2022
Megger's test leads are lightweight, and equally suited for the plant or in the field.

The KC-C test leads are lightweight, making them safe for use at extreme heights, and are designed to work with Megger’s DLRO2 low resistance hand-held ohmmeter long test lead mode to measure the resistance of the lightning protection circuit of wind turbines. These new leads can be used either in a manufacturing plant or in the field for maintenance.

Developed in conjunction with a leading manufacturer of wind turbines, the KC-C test leads provide a complete and convenient solution for supplying reliable leads that are long enough for testing the continuity of lightning protection conductors in turbines. They offer more accurate results and eliminate the time-consuming, inconvenient and unreliable process of engineers and technicians having to fabricate their own test leads.

They are available in two lengths including, 328 ft. and 164 ft. each testing lead comes standard on a heavy-duty cable reel that is fitted with a friction brake to avoid tangles while reeling out the cable. They are rated to 10 A.
