NAHAD Elects President for 2019-2020

May 15, 2019
NAHAD, the Association for Hose and Hose Accessories Distribution, announced the recent election of Sam Petillo as its president for 2019-2020.

NAHAD, the Association for Hose and Hose Accessories Distribution, announced the recent election of Sam Petillo as its president for 2019-2020. Petillo is president of Singer Equities Inc., Houston, and assumes the NAHAD presidency after serving multiple leadership roles with the association, including a member of the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and various committees.

“I am honored to be a part of NAHAD and to serve as president this year,” says Petillo. “I served on the NAHAD board both as a manufacturer and a distributor, and I feel I bring a unique perspective on the value NAHAD provides related to networking, education, and most importantly, our commitment to hose safety and the Hose Safety Institute.”

Petillo, a 20-year veteran in the hose and rubber business, joined Singer Equities in 2013 as vice president/Midwest regional manager. He was elevated to president/CEO in 2016 and focused on driving strategy, growth plans, and acquisitions for Singer. Petillo previously served as director, North America for Goodyear’s Industrial Hose and Hydraulics business unit and held product and marketing manager roles for Saint-Gobain’s Fluid Systems division. A graduate of the University of Akron, Petillo holds a Master’s degree in business communication.

“Sam’s commitment to NAHAD is a true testament to his leadership style and his dedication to the industry,” explains Molly Alton Mullins, NAHAD executive vice president. “Sam brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the table and is truly one of the most respected leaders in the business. NAHAD is lucky to have him at the helm to accomplish great things for the organization in the year ahead.”

NAHAD is the only trade association dedicated to the hose industry, promoting quality, safety, and profitability among leading manufacturers and distributors. One of NAHAD’s premier offerings is its Hose Safety Institute, which sets industry standards for hose safety and assembly. Petillo was a part of the original team who created the Institute’s guidelines and is acutely committed to its mission.

“Hose safety and reliability is deeply important to us at Singer and to all our company brands,” adds Petillo. “Being a part of NAHAD, and the Hose Safety Institute, is critical to ensuring our company’s protocols meet and exceed industry standards. I am proud to be a part of an organization committed to these best practices and I look forward to great things ahead this year.”
