Hannover Fairs USA Announces New Event for IIoT, Industry 4.0

Dec. 13, 2018
Hannover Fairs USA is set to stage the biennial Digital Industry USA event next September.

This coming September, Deutsche Messe, through its U.S. affiliate, Hannover Fairs USA, will stage the biennial Digital Industry USA, an event for Industry 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) covering everything from proof-of-concept for factories to completely networked operations. Digital Industry USA will be held at the Kentucky International Convention Center, Louisville, Ky., Sept. 11 and 12, 2019. Louisville is located at the center of an industrial region from which three quarters of America’s production capacity can be reached within three hours.

“Digital Industry USA is the only event in North America that focuses exclusively on the deployment of Industry 4.0 technologies and the Industrial Internet of Things,” says Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of Deutsche Messe. “It enhances Hannover Messe USA, which we stage in even-numbered years, so we now provide an additional Industry 4.0 platform in North America for business and knowledge exchange."

Digital Industry USA consists of an exhibition, conference, and education program and features interactive demonstrations, workshops, training sessions, areas for startups and virtual reality, and a hackathon. Core topics include additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence, automation, cybersecurity, data analytics, integrated industry, Logistics 4.0, production efficiency, and robotics. Tours of a distillery, a Toyota plant, and a UPS distribution center are also offered.

Digital Industry USA serves user industries such as aerospace, automotive, assembly and packaging, energy (including oil and gas), food and beverage, logistics, laboratory equipment, and mechanical and electrical engineering.

An exhibitor advisory committee with members from ARC Advisory Group, Beckhoff, Forcam, Hiwin, Microsoft, Nikola Industrial & Manufacturing Solutions, and SAP steers the development of Digital Industry USA. “Creating a trade show and educational conference that is focused more intently on the increasing needs of IIoT and Industry 4.0 is so crucial,” adds Brian Pitzer, global VP of Nikola Industrial & Manufacturing Solutions. “This area will continue to grow at an astounding rate over the next 10 years as it is easily the single biggest challenge facing the manufacturing and industrial environments today.”
