Here at H&P we’re looking forward to welcoming a lot of new things this year. Most importantly, on January 24, I invite you to check out our redesigned website. It’s an exciting time for us, as we have been long overdue for a new site and it’s going to be great. All the content will stay the same but it will better organized and easier to use and read.
You will find a new, cleaner look and better organization to our website. It has been completely redesigned to provide users with an easier way of finding technical fluid power articles and case histories, product releases, videos, news stories, and more. One of the most important redesigns to me is our search function. It will finally work more like a Google search and be a more useful tool for people doing searches on our website. The current one does not allow you to customize a search as well.
All content has remained the same; organization is the only thing that has changed. Popular sections, like our “Technology Zones” and “Industry Zones,” have been renamed “Technologies” and “Applications” and include lists of articles, blog posts, and videos related to sub-categories organized by product type and industry use.
All product releases will be listed under the Products tab. Visitors will still find easy access to our blogs, events, Fluid Power Basics, eBooks, Bookstore, and Manufacturers and Distributors directories as well as our online Designer’s Guide.

In addition, we return to three Fluid Power Conference & Expo events this year, and are giving them a fresh new look and feel. Our first one will be co-located with WasteExpo May 1-3, during the largest event in the waste management industry. It will cater to professionals working in the waste collection, reduction, processing, and recycling industries and focus on the hydraulics used in the machines and systems used in these industries.
The next event will be held at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, a stronghold in fluid power technology, June 26 to 27. The campus is also the home of the Center for Compact and Efficient Fluid Power (CCEFP). The event will draw on the University’s and CCEFP’s research expertise and highlight some of the key research taking place there.
Finally, we’ll head south to Charlotte, N.C. in October. Details and dates will be announced in the near future.
