When incorporated into an appropriate control circuit, the PTO valve can prevent unintentional activation of these drives.
A new panel/dash mounted PTO (power takeoff) valve from Mead Fluid Dynamics, has a safety interlock to prevent accidental engagement of the PTO pump which can cause severe accidents.
Power takeoffs are used in on-and off-highway equipment to transmit power from a vehicle's transmission to a hydraulic or mechanical drive. Therefore, when incorporated into an appropriate control circuit, the PTO valve can prevent unintentional activation of these drives.
The new valve has a re-set port that requires a signal to be removed or applied before the valve may be operated. This re-set signal can be interfaced with the vehicle's hand brake or an alternate device to ensure that the PTO cannot be operated until the safety interlock has been activated.
The PTO valves can activate the re-set function via a remote air signal or with an electrical solenoid integral to the valve.
