WB12 series of Positape tape extension position sensors extends sensor life in applications that require pulleys.
WB12 series of Positape tape extension position sensors extends sensor life in applications that require pulleys. It provides a measuring range of 118 in and a linearity of ±0.05% full scale. It is constructed with a custom designed stainless steel tape which is coiled on a precision drum. Housing is IP67 (IP69K) rated with the appropriate mating connector. It is available with the in
dustry standard 0.5-10 and 0.5-4.5 V and 4-20mA analog outputs as well as SSI, CANopen and CAN SAE J1939 digital outputs.

At the heart of this sensor is a non-contact magnetic encoder which serves as the angle sensor element for the tape drum. The electrical connection is made with bulkhead M12 connector. The rugged design is shock an vibration resistant and makes it suitable for use in harsh environmental conditions.

Because the tape also has very smooth surfaces, the risk of icing is reduced during cold operating conditions. Integrated tape dust wiper automatically cleans the tape during operation.
