New spiral hydraulic hose for high-pressure applications

March 13, 2013
Tuff Spiral Flex hydraulic hose from Kurt Hydraulics, Lyman, Neb., is engineered for rugged, high pressure hydraulic applications up to 6235 psi. Designed for applications with minimal space, its design provides bend capacity of 8.25 to 9.5 in., depending on hose diameter selected. It is available in diameters of ¾-, 1- and 1¼-in. ID, and can be combined with many Kurt coupling styles that are specifically designed for heavy duty applications where shock and vibration are present.

Reinforced internally with four spiral layers of high tensile steel wire braid, the hose has a durable oil, ozone and abrasion resistant synthetic outer cover. It has ten times the abrasion resistance compared to standard hose cover, reports Kurt Hydraulics. Impulse tested for up to 1 million cycles, it withstands temperatures from -40° up to 250°F and meets flame resistant MSHA designation. It meets or exceeds requirements of SAE DIN 20023.

Suitable applications include construction equipment, trucks, and demanding injection molding systems.
