Pack Expo Showcases the Latest in Packaging

Sept. 14, 2017
The three-day event runs the gamut in packaging, and includes manufacturers who produce the components and systems that form the backbone of such advanced machinery.

The 14th annual Pack Expo will descend on the Las Vegas Convention Center from September 25-27. More than 30 fluid-power exhibitors will display a range of hydraulic and pneumatic components used in all kinds of industrial machinery in the packaging industry.

For industrial machinery—especially those running at high-pressure duty cycles like injection blow-molding machines—optimization of air consumption and material use can be major cost-saving factors in an operating plant. Pneumatic systems, widely used in factory automation, are integral for creating tight seals in the packaging industry. By exploring the machinery on display at Pack Expo, visitors will be able to get a better feel for some of the various power units, systems, and controls that are used to boost efficiency in stationary machinery.

Visitors can talk to exhibitors in three pavilions: Containers and Materials, Confectionary, and Reusable Packaging. At the Innovation Stage, presenters will share their latest technologies and strategies for business in 30-minute seminars throughout the show days. Session themes include “smart” packaging through data managed and stored on the cloud, as well as Internet of Things systems. Visitors can also learn about topics pertaining to troubleshooting techniques, sustainability, safety, and streamlining operations.

The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies (PMMI) will be on hand, too, hosting educational programs at the show for technicians and training personnel. The PMMI Risk Assessment workshop will take place from September 23-24, giving visitors hands-on, risk-assessment training that meets international safety standards and requirements. A certified trainer workshop will run from September 25 to 27.

Visitors can also download the show’s mobile app to plan their schedule and manage their itinerary.

The PACK Gives BACK event this year will benefit relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey through the American Red Cross.

To register for Pack Expo, go to www.packexpointernational.com, and click “Register Now” under the Attend tab. Registration before October 14 is $30, and $100 after that. Spouses of attendees can attend for free.
