Daman Calls for Sponsors for its Fluid Power Action Challenge

Nov. 14, 2017
The company has hosted Fluid Power Action Challenges since 2010. Now, it looks for sponsors in its upcoming event to support student teams as they learn and apply their knowledge of mechanics and fluid power.

Local communities partner with the National Fluid Power Association to host Fluid Power Action Challenges, where 7th and 8th graders apply mechanical and hydraulic engineering concepts to design functional machines for applications that resemble real-world situations. An example machine is shown in the video below.

Daman, a designer and manufacturer of hydraulic valve manifolds and similar products, will host its 8th Fluid Power Action Challenge in Mishawaka, IN. Student workshops will take place before the event on January 17th, 18th, and 19th from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Daman Products, 1811 N. Home St., Mishawaka, IN 46545.

There were 37 teams participating at Daman's Fluid Power Action Challenge last year. The company hopes to attract 40 teams at its coming event.

Then, the Fluid Power Action Challenge Competition Day will take place Saturday, March 17th, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Bethel College, 1001 Bethel Circle, Mishawaka, IN 46545.

This year, Daman offers new sponsorship options, listed below. The company’s goal is to raise $10,000 to support 40 student teams.

Champion Sponsor: The champion sponsor will contribute $2500 toward the event's overall funding. Daman will include the company's logo on its event-sponsor banner and t-shirts, website, and social media promotions. The sponsor also has the option to display promotional materials at the event. In addition, Daman will cover hotel and dinner expenses for up to two people on the night before the challenge, if representatives decide to attend. This position is limited to one sponsor.

Award Sponsor: Award sponsors donate $1500 that will go toward awards. Daman will feature these sponsors' logo on the sponsor banner, t-shirt, website, and in social media promotions. Sponsors will also be allowed to display promotional materials at the event. This position is limited to three sponsors.

T-Shirt Sponsor: A contribution of $350 will secure the company's logo on t-shirts, the sponsor banner, the Daman website, and in social media promotions. This sponsorship is limited to ten sponsors.

Material Kit Sponsor: A contribution of $250 will help buy materials for workshops and on the Challenge day. Company names will be included on the event's sponsor banner and on the Daman website.

Tool Box Kit Sponsor: Donations of $100 from these sponsors will help buy materials for toolboxes. Daman will include the companies' names on the sponsor banner and on its website.
