Video Shows How to Collect an Oil Sample

Hydraquip’s newest video on its YouTube channel describes best practices for taking accurate oil samples when testing contamination levels and composition.

A main takeaway from the video is to only take samples where flow is turbulent. Taking a sample from a straight pipe may reduce the amount of particles in the sample, giving an inaccurate representation of the oil as a whole.

Other videos on the channel touch upon setting primary relief valves, setting maximum flow rates in pumps, and specific products offered by Hydraquip.

In addition to instructional and educational videos, Hydraquip also offers a free lunch-and-learn sessions for companies to learn about the best filtration methods that suits their application. In the 45 minute session, the presenters will cover the following topics:

  • Effects of Contamination
  • ISO Contamination & Beta Ratings
  • In-Plant Filtration Location & Strategies
  • Offline Filtration Options
  • Contamination Monitoring & Sampling
