Good times at AGConnect

Day two is ended at AGConnect and it's been an informative and enjoyable show. Despite feeling a bit under the weather, it's been good to hit the ground running in 2011 and meet new companies and learn about unique ways fluid power components are being used in agricultural machinery.

I had a chance to sit down and talk with folks at Eaton Corp. and learn more about the many systems they have integrated in fully automated sugar cane harvesters, as well as several other ag machines. I saw perhaps one the largest machines in my life — a cotton picker and baler from Case IH.

It's at shows like these where you meet new people you won't find otherwise, like the folks at Hidros Machinery Import-Export Co., a company from Turkey that supplies hydraulic pumps, valves and more. Or some of the lesser known (well, to me anyway!) ag machinery makers, like Miller, who use Poclain wheel drive motors. Or GBSA, a seal company right in my own backyard in Chardon, Ohio.

I hope to post pictures from the show next week — I'm having technical difficulties downloading the images from my camera phone! And unfortunately, I will be cutting my time short as the weather in Atlanta promises to turn ugly tomorrow night, but it's still been an informative and enlightening trip!
