Modular automation systems manufactured by De-Sta-Co Robohand, Madison Heights, Mich., feature DirectConnect technology, allowing all components of the system — base slides, block thrusters, thruster slides, grippers, and mounting stanchons — to be mounted together quickly without any adapter plates. This technology provides for motions using one, two, three, or four axes.

The system also offers a variety of product selection and preassembled modules with an unlimited number of motions and multiple configurations that can be easily designed for different applications. Each modular automation system comes with a complete electronic documentation package that includes an applications worksheet, 2D dimensional drawing, 3D CAD models, catalog datasheets, exploded system view, and bill of materials and more.

According to company president Jim Gobany, this system gives engineers, "a single source advantage from the point they first talk one-on-one to a technical support engineer, through easy configuration of their system ... to their receipt of our unique electronic documentation package and ongoing support."
